Spaces
In between nigh’ and morn
A sin seen mid cynic’s scorn
Wedged among passion’s bliss
Pledged upon a soldier’s fist
Waning heat tapers to lust
Training men to die for dust
Concealed in each storm’s pause
Revealed the mocker to rooted laws
Vexingly seasons friendly discourse
Perplexing grief in mending remorse
Vending an air that wraps ‘round nature
Descending our dove and legislature
The wealthy, the stoic, and empowered
The healthy, heroic and the coward
Distant seems the world’s true faces
Consistent to all are silent spaces
